Abstract :
A parallel gap lightning protection device with arc extinguished by high - speed airflow was developed from the principle of parallel gap lightning protection to solve the faults caused by lightning stroke in 35 kV overhead transmission lines. This paper combined with the characteristics of chain arc model under strong gas flow field analyze the motion situation and length variation of the arc element.
