Abstract :
The security issue of running vehicle is very important, and the accurate measurement of wheel/rail force is the necessary precondition of real-time monitoring the safety status. Researching in wheel/rail contacting point makes important sense to improve the measurement accuracy of wheel/rail force. But on-rail detecting of contacting points between wheel/rail is very difficult, because of the rotation of the wheel. On the basis of conventional instrumented wheelsets, an additional bridge to induce the changes of contact point is added. In order to decrease the influence of the rotation of the wheel, 6 bridges needed. Equations between output of the bridges and contact point are non-linear. So it must convert non-linear equations to linear equations first. Contact points can be obtained by the solution of the linear equations.
