Abstract :
The scattering of buried horizontal pairs of strip was analyzed using a mixed potential integral equation (MPIE) and the method of moments (MoM) with rooftop basis functions. The computational efficiency was improved by using the robust complex image method (CIM) with a two-level approximation for the Green´s functions of a dielectric half space. The numerical results showed that the poles of the coupled strips move in spiral patterns as the separation distances between the strip pairs change. The pole behavior of the buried strip pairs in a dielectric half- space is similar to that of wires immersed in the homogeneous dielectric medium, which were first modeled and also measured in air and then inferred by Baum´s (1989) transform.
