Abstract
Much progress has been made in the last 30 years in the promotion of the importance of uncertainty of measurement being quoted with all calibration results and the authors of the many guidance documents on the subject must be given considerable credit for this achievement. However it is essential that their efforts are not wasted and a vigorous campaign must be maintained until all certificates of calibration contain uncertainties of measurement. Without such information calibration results have no value
