Abstract
Mutual coupling between array antenna elements degrades the SINR of adaptive algorithms and distorts array transmit and receive patterns. Techniques have been developed to measure the coupling matrix C and to compensate array data using the matrix inverse C/sup -1/. Measurement and compensation accuracy required to achieve desired array performance have not been analyzed, however. The present work analyzes the effects of compensation errors and, for the first time, puts quantitative bounds on the required compensation accuracy.
