Abstract
Lightning detection system is required in specific situations such as fast location of lightning disaster on power transmission tower and lightning characteristics research. An intelligent lightning detection system including lightning signal collection module, centre control module, display module, memory module, time module and host computer module is implemented. A novel Rogowski Coil is designed to use signals collected by collection module to detect lightning. The collected lightning data pre-processed by the master controller STM32F103ARM can be memorized and inquired if the SD card module, the time module and the display module are used. In addition, the remote real-time detection and data recording can be realized if the pre-processed lightning data are transmitted by the RS485 bus to the host computer. You can query the system records of the lightning strength, the lightning current waveforms, lightning times a day, the time of occurrence in recent years. The key part of the system design is the lightning current signal acquisition circuit´s protection, with using optocoupler, lightning protection measures for data communication circuits ; Meanwhile, the system would control Roche Coil current within 3.3A, and can drive the output and input into linear relationship. The keys to design are the considerations of durability, reliability and lower cost. Especially, it is suitable for power transmission tower lightning monitoring, fault location, troubleshooting, and other services. It is dedicated for setting lightning monitoring system on special high buildings in order to provide basic lighting current data for the study of lightning science.
