  • Abstract
The quality of mobile communications is limited by the fading phenomena: fast fading and slow fading. Slow fading results from the shadowing of the propagating wave by large obstacles. A model for the stochastical behavior of slow fading is developed. It generates the proper correlated process by means of an uncorrelated stationary process that is given by the log-normal statistics. The basic idea is the Markovian interpretation of the spatial relation between the measured signal powers at different locations. This enables not only a feasible simulation but also a more detailed physical explanation of slow fading
