Status of automotive electronics in Germany

Electronic equipment was used in German cars at an early stage. The first part of this paper describes the status of electronic engine equipment for German vehicles. The second section deals with electronic equipment for chassis and carbody. The antiskid system is described in detail. Drivers information systems about vehicle and traffic situation are considered. The last part gives a status report on electric vehicles in Germany.
