Fibre Channel provides affordable, high-speed interconnection for data communications. It is a technology that is broadly sponsored by industry and is coming to the marketplace in 1994. This paper presents an overview of the Fibre Channel set of ANSI standards and an update on Fibre Channel related activities.<>
