Abstract
In this paper, traditional design of profibus node is based on single processor architecture. To enhance node performance and process more external events, a kind of profibus bridge node with asymmetric architecture design is introduced in this paper, which consists of two heterogeneous multiprocessors and two kinds of communication mode, i.e. profibus and Ethernet ways. The design is primarily based on function modules. Implementation of data flow control and optimized external events are also proposed. In addition, it Compares and analyzes this architecture with communication modes of multiprocessors.
