Abstract :
The object of this paper is to establish a lightning protection system for wind turbines on mountaintops along the coast of the Sea of Japan, which is susceptible to winter lightning. This system gave the good protection effect over the seven years since 2007 upon the wind turbines from lightning. An overhead ground wire acting as an air terminal is highly effective.
