Wind farm integration- power quality management for French distribution network

The embedded generation has soared for the past ten years, specially with the advent of wind power energy. The expansion of wind energy raises constraints on the distribution networks planning and the operation and power quality issues : voltage step changes, flicker, voltage/current harmonics, attenuation of ripple control signals. Consequently, the public distribution network conception and connection studies are evolving in order to keep the distribution system operating in optimal conditions.
