Abstract :
Several methods to improve the run length properties of block codes and convolutional codes without increasing overall redundancy are known. Similar methods for turbo-codes were introduced by Farkas et al. (see Int. J. Electron. Commun. (AEU), vol.53, p.161-6, 1999). We present another technique for turbo-codes using a single embedded inverter which reduce the run lengths in the code word of the turbo-code for worst case input sequences of all zeros and all ones
