Abstract
We propose a superimposed pilot-based channel estimation scheme for frequency-flat block fading multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. The superimposed pilot (SIP) is designed to be orthogonal to the transmitted data matrix, and the orthogonal property is obtained by exploiting the random space-time symbol interleaver at transmitter. Since the pilot and data can be totally decoupled, the performance degradation of channel estimation due to the presence of the unknown data is eliminated. Simulation results show the enhanced performance of the proposed scheme.
