Abstract :
Lightning current parameters derived from Lightning Location Systems (LLS) have been used in the past to assess their influence in the local performance of the Network. The paper presents an analysis of the statistical parameters for negative peak current strokes and flashes in different areas of Catalonia (32 000 km2) for two different LLS operating in this area. “Relative DE” of both LLS in three different regions is found as well. The methodology presented in this paper to determine the “relative DE” is based on the methodology described in a technical document by CIGRÉ. Results show that “relative DE” as well as statistical parameters are linked to Network design respect to the region of interest.
