Abstract :
A systematic approach to heating of magnetic components, based on a rigorous physical approach to heat transfer phenomena and on experiment, is proposed. The thermal modelling is validated by simple examples and used to update procedures for dimensioning high-frequency transformers. A dimensional study of components is proposed as a function of frequency, heating and magnetic materials. The method is implemented in a CAD environment for magnetic components
