  • Abstract
In order to decide on an efficient lightning protection system, it is very important to determine the lightning current distribution in the building. In this paper, the lightning channel base current adopts the function which is composed of one Heidler´s and one double-exponential function. The lightning current distribution in the LPS is calculated based on the partial element equivalent circuit in the frequency domain. The lightning current distribution in the LPS is also calculated by means of the commercial software CDEGS, and the calculated currents in the LPS are compared with those measured.
