Abstract
The author analyzes the bit error rate (BER) performance of frequency-hopping differential phase-shift keying (DPSK) in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and multitone jamming. It is shown that the exact BER is given by a compact expression in terms of Marcum´s Q -function. The optimum jamming situation is also analyzed and the results are compared with those obtained under the noiseless situation previously analyzed by S.W. Houston (1975). It is also demonstrated that the noiseless result is asymptotically approached as the signal-to-noise ratio approaches infinity
