Abstract :
A new multi-carrier (MC) CDMA system using quadrature modulation in mobile radio communication is proposed. The signal-to-noise plus interference ratio (SNIR) in the backward link is analyzed under both Gaussian and time-selective fading channel. It is found that the capacity of this system depends on the carrier spacings and symbol shape. The sensitivity of the bit error with raised-cosine time windowing is simulated, and the performance is found to be optimized when the average roll-off factor α lies in the range (0.1⩽α⩽0.3)
