Abstract :
In this paper we studied frequency estimation using pulse pairs. First we modified two methods based on the idea of residual signal frequency estimate, whose variance are shown be close to Cramer-Rao bound (CRB). Then we propose a method using pulse pair to simplify the iterative filter method, which is shown to be able to achieve CRB asymptotically. Through simulation, all the three methods perform efficiently even at short data length, without cumbersome grid search applied in MLE.
