Abstract
Demand response programs have proven merits in facilitating power grid needs and dynamic market operation. The coordination of load flexibility is an intricate process in design and execution specifically in terms of the accessing market party, signaling program and release of flexibility to the system. This work takes a closer look at the complexity of aggregation in European power markets and concludes that there is a need for a more comprehensive framework than the ones proposed till date if demand response services are to be successfully implemented in the member states.
