  • Abstract
    The present paper aims at investigating the impact that Demand Response (DR) technologies may have on the future development of the pan-European power system. For this purpose, different results of the GridTech pan-European study applying a zonal analysis are presented, with reference to 2020, 2030 and 2050 scenarios. This analysis based on the modeling of the pan-European system includes the technological improvements given by the exploitation of optimal DR devices. Some key results of the case studies are evaluated towards a quantitative techno-economic assessment and compared with a reference base case scenario.
