Abstract :
GPS signal acquisition is very crucial in GPS receiver. The circular convolution and FFT method are often used to achieve GPS signal acquisition in time domain and frequency domain, respectively. FFT acquisition method is usually adopted in high dynamic GPS receiver because of its faster process speed than circular convolution. But FFT acquisition spent more time to get GPS signal in order to reach the higher requirement of position precision, when the carrier has larger dynamic range. This paper discusses a new method combined FFT and circular convolution. This new method can reduce the cost time of acquisition.
