Abstract :
Traction transformer is a major apparatus in traction power supply system. Therefore, to make economical decisions for traction transformer replacement, it is critical to be able to estimate with reasonable accuracy the traction transformer remaining life expectancy. The paper demonstrates a indirectly calculating method to acquire traction transformer´s winding hot-spot temperature. The dependence between transformer loss of life and temperature is calculated as a function of the hot-spot temperature. And the factors influencing traction transformer´s winding hot-spot temperature and loss of life are analyzed.
