Abstract :
Satellites are expected to carry a significant amount of future broadband multimedia communications. Satellites are able to offer global connectivity, coverage, rapid deployment and virtually a `fiber-in-the-sky´. There are numerous exciting challenges and possibilities, and this paper focuses on some of the issues involved
