Abstract :
This paper describes some noise reduction techniques and EMI control for a high frequency telecommunication system which operates on an internal clock frequency between 20 MHz and 100 MHz. Various power distribution techniques, signal and clock distribution and grounding structures were tried. Methods giving better results are described. These if implemented in the early design stage save substantial design time and effort. The authors discuss an SDH optical fibre based synchronous multiplexer in particular
