  • Abstract
BHEL Electronics Division has been supplying its alarm annunciator system to various industries for fault annunciation of various critical parameters of equipment/process. This paper deals with the analysis of spurious alarm (as a result of noise signals pickup) problem faced at one of the sites where the annunciator system has been supplied and commissioned by BHEL and how the spurious alarm problem was solved. Additional circuitry is incorporated in the annunciator chip and the erasable programmable logic device (EPLD) IC programmed for all the future requirements of the annunciator modules. No spurious alarm problem was observed in the annunciator panels supplied with the modified annunciator chip
