Abstract :
Guided radio communications using signal boosters and distributed antenna systems is a developing art that was not anticipated in the present FCC Rules and Regulations. This has resulted in confusion in the radio communications industry and numerous inquiries to the FCC staff regarding type acceptance of signal boosters and licensing of distributed antenna systems. This paper outlines the procedures for preparing fsapplications for FCC type acceptance of signal boosters, the pertinent FCC Rules and Standards, and it explains matters relating to licensing distributed antenna systems.
