Abstract :
The log-polar transformation(LPT) is the main realized idea of variable spatial resolution vision system. But the realized algorithms are scarce. The forward implementation algorithm of LPT is proposed in the paper. The transformation is based on the determination of uniform image rings and spoke values. The distance and angular axis are dispersed respectively and the respective one-to-one mapping rings are obtained. Then the two mapping rings are unified. With the algorithm, the data quantity of result matrix is lowed and the fast transformation of image can be implemented. The standard Lena image is analyzed with the algorithm and results show the algorithm is validity.
