  • Abstract
This paper emphasizes that the evaluation of IS and study of its impact on an organization cannot be done in isolation, but needs an integrated approach that monitors the IS from various views involved in its making and organizational environment instrumental in the cultivation of organizational IS. The proposed model offers a simple, flexible and modular approach to assess IS effectiveness using partial as well as a composite metric. The model also highlights the scope for improvement. The application of this model brings out that the effectiveness in the Indian automobile industry is slightly higher than moderate. This work can be of practical use for organization management in assessing and leveraging the value of their IT/IS investments. It is suggested to develop an automated tool to help the IS users give their feedback at some well-defined intervals to facilitate the feedback and learning in an easy and fast manner
