Abstract :
The paper describes a method of using the transfer function of a given system to calculate the shielding efficiency (SE) of a protective screen with the help of measurements conducted in the time domain. A high voltage electromagnetic pulse simulator (EMPS) creates the required pulse fields. The radiated field in the working zone of the simulator is measured by a V-conical sensor. Evaluation of the shielding efficiency in the frequency domain is carried out by deconvoluting the measured electric field applying fast Fourier transform (FFT) techniques. Different materials are compared for their SE over a wide frequency range from 0 to 100 MHz, which is the spectrum of the generated impulse
