Abstract :
We have developed the momentum method towards a study of multi-component spatial solitons dynamics in photorefractive media. It allows us to describe both an excitation of the soliton intrinsic degrees of freedom associated with the oscillations of centres of gravity of the beams making up the soliton and soliton interaction with interface between two nonlinear media. It is shown that soliton dynamics near such an interface dramatically depends upon excitation energy of intrinsic degrees of freedom. We have revealed that different internal energy of the same spatial soliton leads to unlike behaviour near the interface such as to transmission, reflection, capture or even breakdown of the bound state.
