  • Abstract
This paper aims at studying the feasibility of the genetic algorithm (GA) for solving the nonlinear dynamic control problems. As an example of the problem, the swing up control of a pendulum is discussed. In the simulation, the pendulum swings up from the hanging position to the upright position by using the control input obtained by GA. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that GA is a suitable method for solving the complicated nonlinear dynamic control problems
