Abstract :
This paper discusses the details of the European radiated immunity test regulations IEC 1000-4-3. The IEC 1000-4-3 regulation defines the testing and measurement techniques applicable to the immunity of electrical and electronic equipment to radiated electromagnetic energy for products to be sold in the European common market. The regulation establishes the test levels and the recommended test procedures. The design features of a hardware/software system solutions that will meet the regulation requirements are discussed. The test facility requirements and the need for meeting the field uniformity, amplifier power requirements, and antenna selections are discussed taking into the account the required field strength and modulation. All reference to the test requirements are taken with reference to published drafts on the regulation, and the system design requirements to meet the regulation are verified
