Abstract :
This paper describes the principle of operation of commutator motors used in domestic food mixers, analyses the generation of electromagnetic interference due to commutator arcing, identifies the prominent modes of interference coupling by actual measurements and offers a cost-effective solution to suppress the interference at the source to meet the recommended limits of international regulatory EMI/EMC standards
