Abstract :
This paper presents a novel multimode horn for achieving high and uniform gain over a circular area. In order to design the taper configuration of the horn based on the optimization technique, we have evaluated mode coefficients for covering a circular area by means of universal patterns with maximum gain in arbitrary direction. Experimental investigation is performed for a test antenna fabricated in the X-band.
