Abstract :
A non-contact computer vision (CV) system based on structured light is introduced, which is designed to measure the frame and position error of column-shaped objects, such as diameter, coaxiality, straightness accuracy and radial angle. The mathematical theory of the meterage of all the parameters based on structured light is also introduced. At the end, all the theory is validated in experiments, which contains the calibration of the cameras and the plane of the structured light, the meterage of the curve equation of borderline of the section plane, and the angle between two normal vectors. The system is proved effective, especially when meterage of large numbers of production is needed, the system can save plentiful time and manual work. The theory introduced in this paper has added a new idea to the field of non-contact meterage.
