Abstract :
The first infrastructure and healthcare technology (HT) assessment has been implemented in Ulaanbaatar. The outputs of the assessment are the main inputs to the capital planning process the Ministry of Health will start implementing in 2014. Since the boom of the Mongolian economy in 2009 there was a need to rationalize the capital investments in health. The capital planning process has been developed to cover the existing gap. Thirty-three healthcare facilities (that account for 5.939 beds of the Mongolian healthcare system) have been surveyed and its equipment included in a new inventory system. This first step will allow the Ministry of Health to start monitoring over 5.500 items with a unique identification. Additional results will be available after the complete data processing of the collected.
