Abstract :
In this paper we use a simulation environment called PC-SIMFO, to evaluate the performance of a WDM system, using five types of optical filters as demultiplexers. The system simulated is a 4-channel intensity modulated and direct detection transmission system. Our results show that it is possible to transmit more than 200 channels at 2.5 Gb/s over 50 km, using conventional single mode optical fiber
