Abstract
Photovoltaic generation systems are usually low-power sources connected to the distribution network. As solar modules represent a voltage (current) dc-source, they must be connected to the grid through an electronic power converter producing low-distortion ac current. Utility distribution systems were not designed for accommodating power generation especially not during system disturbances. Because the converter´s operation is highly dependent on the voltage at the point of connection the interaction between the network and such generation system should be analysed. In this paper the behaviour of a photovoltaic generation system in case of distribution network voltage sags is investigated by means of digital simulation.
