Abstract
It is difficult to build a useful grey model based on grey number sequence because of the limitations of operational system of the grey algebra; on the other hand, the traditional method, that transforms grey numbers into real ones, will lead to information loss. On the premise of insuring the independence and information integrity of interval grey numbers, the paper designs a novel method of whitenization of interval grey number sequence, and investigates the characteristics of data in the transformation process of times multiplication and translation between the real number sequence and the raw interval grey number sequence. Finally, a GM(1, 1) model is successfully built by the whitenization sequence. The new method realizes effectively the whitenization process of interval grey number sequence, and has a vital significance for extending the applied scope of grey models.
