Abstract
The diabetes mellitus results from lack of insulin. Insulin is only hormone to reduce the blood sugar concentration. So diabetes mellitus increases the blood sugar concentration level. Then insulin injection therapy is widely used to treat diabetes mellitus. Continuous monitoring of blood glucose level makes the therapy safer, but no practical devices are available. We have investigated about the device that works mechanically by the change of the blood sugar concentration. This device causes mechanical actuation without energy supply and control system. We have applied this device as a diaphragm valve designed by the micro optical stereo lithography. We have tried to estimate the function of the diaphragm valve system for the insulin therapy.
