Abstract :
The authors present the system architecture and the radio techniques for a three-channel TDMA (time division multiple access) cellular system, which is under development by NTT based on the Japanese standard. The system is designed according to the OSI (open systems interconnection) model and is connected to ISDN (integrated services digital network) to achieve the flexibility to provide future services. Spectrum efficient and flexible channel/signaling structures are defined. New radio transmission equipment for providing economical and compact base stations and portable telephones is described
