Abstract :
Fluxgate sensors require high excitation currents to achieve low perming and low noise. Parallel resonant excitation circuit supplied from current source is used in order to reduce the excitation power. We show that it is possible to use serial resonance circuit for this purpose. The shape of the resonance current peak is not dependent on the voltage waveform. The main advantage of serial resonant circuit is that it can be excited by simple switching circuit powered by low voltage source.
