Abstract :
The pulsed electro-acoustic method has been widely used to observe space charge in dielectrics. We have developed a new electrode unit which applies the pulsed electric field through the gap. This open-PEA system can measure internal space charge without an electrode on the surface of the specimen. Although, the calibration technique is still under investigation, the output signals were clearly observed.
