Abstract :
This paper considers linear precoder optimization problems for minimizing the mean-square error (MSE) with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. In contrast to the conventional sum-power constraint on transmit antennas, a more realistic power constraint, which is the joint constraint of sum-power and maximum eigenvalue, are adopted in this paper. Mining the internal property of the eigenvalue-decomposition of power matrix, we give an exact closed-form of eigenmode and then propose a two-dimensional searching method for deriving eigenvalues. As the number of points that needs to be searched in each dimension is less than the number of transmitters, the computational complexity of the proposed method is very low. Moreover, compared to the lp-norm method, another advantage of the proposed method is that it can achieve the global optimal solution rather than a sub-optimal one.
