Abstract :
In this paper we propose a universal optimal design criterion of a phase spreading sequence for a direct sequence spread spectrum multiple access (DS/SSMA) system with full response continuous phase modulation (CPM) over a Rayleigh fading channel. Structural properties of phase spreading sequences are derived. Examples of phase spreading sequences for different lengths are designed by computer search. The performance of the CPFSK DS/SSMA system with suboptimal phase spreading sequences in a Rayleigh fading channel is evaluated by computer simulation
