Abstract :
The results of field trials conducted in the urban and sub-urban areas in Ottawa/Hull region are reported. These tests were conducted at 150, 450 and 820 HHz bands selecting synchronous and asynchronous transmissions. The collected data has been analysed for bit error, character error rates, and error free gaps distributions for different signal to noise ratios for the three frequencies. It is shown that isolated errors occur only rarely and mobile channel is highly bursty. The statistics of error free gap length have also been reported.
