Abstract :
UMTS operators are expected to start offering services on their brand new 3G networks during 2003 and 2004. Operators, infrastructure manufacturers and device manufacturers are currently working together on the development of the technology to move from a system that works in the laboratory, to a system that offers carrier grade service to real customers in the networks. The aim of this paper is to present some of the 3G experiences gathered in the field jointly by O2 and Nortel Networks in the areas of neighbour list definitions and soft handover performance.
