Nuclear power and public acceptance
Abstract :
The author reports on a strategic plan developed by the US nuclear industry for the 1990s. The industry´s strategic plan has given given clear direction for the industry´s communications activities, which are coordinated at the national level by the US Council for Energy Awareness (USCEA). The attitudes of the American public concerning new plant construction as discerned from polls conducted for the USCEA are discussed, together with advertising efforts of the USCEA, its media and public relations program, and its local communications effort through publications.<>
